Hey FootyFam,
Excited to share this message with 322 action-taking ballers.
Today I will be sharing a technique I use to help create discipline and razor sharp focus
Commit to this for 3 months and it will change the way you do everything
Let’s get into it, this one is a short 2 minute read
“When we tune out the opinions, expectations, and obligations of the world around us, we begin to hear ourselves.” - Jay Shetty
In October I am entering a period of extreme discipline I like to call “Monk Mode”
Monk Mode (MM) is not something I created…
Many high achievers use their version of “Monk Mode” to block out distractions and get work done
At its core, Monk Mode is about removing anything stopping you from progress,
Whilst being deliberate about creating time and space for doing the things that produce results
Monk Mode is build on a set of principles:
So for me, Monk Mode will look like this:
Duration - 6 weeks beginning on October 3rd
Wake up and get out of bed by 7am
Meditate daily
3 hours of deep work daily
Write for 30 minutes daily
Daily Exercise (once per day, as little as a walk)
No parties
No drugs or alcohol
Read for 10 minutes daily (physical or audio)
There is no right or wrong way to do Monk Mode as long as you focus on the principles
It should be seen as a period of less social interaction where you focus on building yourself
As a player, adding visualization or game analysis to your MM routine would be a great idea
If you feel like your whole life is Monk Mode then you are probably too hard on yourself
Something like this should be done in short sprints with the goal of retaining some of the habits
Keeping track of your progress is a major key to having success with this
Every day will not be perfect, it does not need to be,
But tracking to see what went well and what doesn't can help you when trying this in the future
Does Monk Mode sound like something you would ever try yourself?
That’s all for today
I highly recommend you try a Monk Mode for yourself and if you found value in this, please share with a friend and leave a like so we know what your favorite content is
Next week we will have our first guest writer, excited for the journey ahead!
Until we chat again,
