This Is About To Happen, Whether You Like It Or Not
3 Things The World Cup Is Already Teaching Us
Hey FootyFam,
I am excited to share this message with 1,111 action-taking ballers.
It’s November 1st, which means the World Cup Begins THIS MONTH!
Today, I will share a few facts and opinions on how this World Cup will go.
A bit more of an entertaining 3 minute read today.
I hope you enjoy it, leave a like if you do!
The World Cup!
But in Qatar?
Can you name one player on the Qatari national team?
Probably not without using Google.
Even though there was controversy around Qatar being named host, there are some things we can take away here.
Impossible Is Nothing
We see this term come up so much in football and in life, but it proves true again.
Qatar has never hosted an event of this scale and there were natural concerns about the heat.
So they found solutions.
They built brand-new stadiums and infrastructure.
They moved the timing of the World Cup to December to accommodate for the heat.
They even added air conditioning to their stadiums.
Whether you like the idea of this World Cup or not, they are finding a way to make it happen.
Be Flexible
No matter what you dream of doing for a career, having the ability to be flexible and adapt will help you thrive.
One big factor which contributes to success at the World Cup is adaptability.
The teams and players that can quickly adjust to “tournament mode” and find their best form in unconventional circumstances will do best.
No matter how much you prepare, sometimes an opportunity comes at a random time and you need to be ready.
Your ability to adjust and make things happen will determine your chances of success.
Commit To Personal Growth
Some big names will be missing at the World Cup this year.
Haaland, Salah, and Alaba, just to name a few.
This teaches us the importance of maintaining a mindset of growth.
As a player at the top of your game, not participating in a tournament like this won’t feel good.
But these top players are committed to the process and know that their ultimate success will not depend on their performances or lack thereof in just one tournament.
Yes, it is the World Cup.
But the same is true for any tournaments your teams are playing in.
Maintain perspective of the bigger picture and do not allow being omitted from one tournament to stunt your growth.
